Do judge a book by its cover

How do you choose books? Does the look and feel matter? Can a book cover alone make you want to pick it off the shelf, flick through its pages while you weigh up the pros and cons of parting with your cash? For me, good book design is a bit like putting on your best frock and whispering “I’ve made an effort. Pick me!”
If you’re like me and easily seduced by beautiful books you’ll like Book By Its Cover which focuses entirely on the covers and selected pages of brilliantly designed books for children and adults like Ann and Paul Rand’s I know a lot of things (below), which was originally published in the 1970s and is now available in hardback here.
